The Louisiana Legislature begins its 2012 Session on March 11th.  Business’ participation in the legislative arena is essential for economic development and prosperity in Louisiana. At the Legislative Issues Breakfast, the priorities established by the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry for the upcoming 2012 regular legislative session will be discussed by two LABI leaders.  The presentation will focus on the state’s fiscal outlook; additionally, there will be discussion of federal legislation that could dramatically affect Louisiana businesses.

Featured Speakers:

Dan Juneau has been president of LABI since 1989 and is the organization’s chief strategist, lobbyist and spokesperson. He has spent the past 36 years designing and implementing key reforms in areas such as taxation, civil justice, workers and unemployment compensation, workforce development and public education. He also plays a major role in state economic development efforts.
 
Jim Patterson is LABI's Vice President of Governmental Relations; Director of the Employee Relations Council, and Workers' Compensation and Unemployment Compensation Task Forces.  Jim is a Senate floor lobbyist and oversees LABI's lobbying team.  He is a nationally recognized expert in the field of unemployment compensation.
